Opening match: Holden, Quintana, Al Centre

Here are three things we will focus on in baseball this weekend:

1. Holden debuts:

The Cubs call out top pitching prospect Cad Holden this weekend. The 23-year-old is the club's first-round pick in the 2022 draft, with the sport's top 30 prospects ahead of the 2024 campaign. His prospects have dropped after an injury last year’s injury season, but he has returned to his peak performance level in six games starting in 2025. Horton released a 1.24 ERA glitter in 29 innings work in Triple-A’s six games, and he did, while gaining an impressive 30.6% of his opponents. Now he will get his first major league chance against the Mets and right-handers Tylor Megill (Seven starts at 2.50 ERA) on Saturday.

2. Quintana reaches milestone:

Winemakers are in Tampa this weekend Jose Quintana (Five starts at 2.83 ERA) vs. Rays Righty Zack Littell (Seven starts at 4.61 eras). Quintana, 36, will reach a major milestone at the start of today. In his career, he has 1,998 innings and Southpaw will have 2,000 innings in his second game today. The outing will make him the sixth active player to reach this milestone Chris Sales join in Clayton Kershaw,,,,, Justin Verlander,,,,, Max Shezerand Charlie Morton At his last start, Atlanta. Quintana will become the 450th player in Major League Baseball history.

3. al Central makes a winning streak:

Last year, AL Central sent three teams to the playoffs (Cleveland, Detroit and Kansas City), and the start of the 2025 season has increased the likelihood of repetition. Not only did the Tigers start 25-13 as the top club in the American League, which tied them to the Dodgers’ best record, but the division once again had three teams in the playoffs.

This was stimulated by a series of winning streaks around Al Central. Detroit won four straight games, with the guardian of the second place winning two straight games (the past seventeen). What’s even more impressive is the continued winning streak between Kansas City (six games) and Minnesota (five games). These hot stretches gave Royals the second-biggest win at AL behind Detroit, while Minnesota dug most of itself out of a horrible start with a record of 18-20, which left them second only to the wildcard two games.

Can any of these clubs make the weekend's good time roll? All four of them are at home. The Tigers hosted a struggling Rangers club that had just shocked the coaching staff. The royal family hosted a position about Rafael Devers, involved in the drama's Red Sox series. The Twins and Guardians will host one of the top NL teams, respectively, the Giants and the Phillies respectively.
