Milwaukee’s lineup will have some new faces in 2025-26. However, the team will have nine All-Star Giannis Antetokounmpo returns. Recently, the former NBA player turned into analyst Blake Griffin, sharing next season’s Giannis. In a post with Candace Parker and Aliyah Boston, Griffin predicts that Antetokounmpo will win the MVP in 2025-26.

The upcoming season is a big year for the Milwaukee Bucks. During the offseason, there were rumors that two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo could ask for a trade. Currently, the 30-year-old is still a member of the Bucks. When the Bucks separated from Damian Lillard in the offseason, they lost another legitimate scorer in the roster. He averaged 24.9 points per game in 2024-25.
Kyle Kuzma’s 14.5 points per game was the next closest game last season next season, 10 points less than Lillard. Without Lillard’s work, Giannis Antetokounmpo will face incredible challenges. Giannis averaged over 30 points per game in each of the past three seasons. Maintaining Milwaukee competitiveness in the East may require more production.

Blake Griffin said in a podcast on The Post that he believes Giannis Antetokounmpo will win the MVP in 2025-26. He argued that Giannis would play nearly 40 minutes a night. Griffin said Antetokounmpo will have to accept the challenge of carrying the team. He has done it in the past, but has never done it on this level. The second best player on Milwaukee’s roster is center Myles Turner.
Last season, he averaged 15.6 points for the Pacers. Milwaukee also uses Kyle Kuzma as another scoring option. Giannis Antetokounmpo should average more than 30 points per game next season. James Harden’s average of 36.1 points per game in 2018-19 is the highest in the modern NBA. Did Giannis get close to 35 points per game in 2025-26? Two MVPs are far beyond the ability to achieve this. Can Giannis keep the Bucks competitive at the Eastern Conference?
