Enzo Maresca relaxes Chelsea’s Champions League Qualification Hope

Enzo Maresca insists that he has pressured to offer Champions League football at Chelsea this season – but admits that the club's success has changed their short-term goals.

Chelsea faces Manchester United tomorrow night, knowing that their last two games will win, which will mean they will play in the next semester of European elite.

It's a nice season for Maresca of Stamford Bridge, and while the game style he worked still has question marks, the top five will keep critics quiet.

Maresca says we are already ahead

The Italian said the club had planned ahead and yesterday's report showed that he would continue to be responsible even if Champions League football escaped.

He said: “From the first day, I said the goal the club gave me is two years we want to play in the Champions League. OK? Starting from the first day.

“But when you get to March and you’re in the top four or top five throughout the season, it’s natural to end up in the Champions League.

“So the reason it changed from the beginning is because we arrived in March – International break – we were there all season. So the normal goal is to get into the top four or five.

“I’ve said so many times that we’ve had a great season and if we can win the top five and if we can win the conference league, it’s going to be a really good season.”

Although Chelsea's form has gradually faded in recent weeks, Maresca has firmly signed up for the position they currently find themselves.

“Absolutely. We might be happy,” he added. “For example, we have a moment, like in the first five to six months, we're in second and third, so better. Now we're there [fifth] And we'll try to end. ”

Maresca must solve the striker's problem

Chelsea faces a big change in the UEFA final Tottenham Hotspur plans to move forward without a recognized center next Wednesday, after Nicolas Jackson gave a red card at Newcastle last week.

Marc Guiu and Christopher Nkunku are also not available, meaning Maresca has a problem to be solved.

“We're working on it,” he said. “We don't have many choices. Unfortunately, Marc Guiu is still injured. He has started training with us, but he wasn't ready to compete from the start and we're making different choices for Friday night.”
