Aston Villa has reached an agreement to lease Yasin Ozcan to Belgian club Anderlecht this summer.

The players arrived at the West Midlands club in July and signed a long-term contract with them until 2030. The 19-year-old joined Aston Villa in February with a pre-contract agreement, with the transfer worth about €7 million.

Aston Villa allowed his loan Anderlecht to join Anderlecht, and if they trigger the option to sign him permanently at the end of the season, the defender will eventually leave the West Midlands Club without clicking to compete.

Belgian clothing can choose to achieve this action permanently in the summer of 2026. It will be interesting to see the 19-year-old perform next season.

Why did Aston Villa sign Ozcan?

According to a report from the New York Times, the defense lawyer was scouted by the Aston Villa recruitment team to improve its PSR compliance. They want to bring in young and cheap players, just to sell them quickly just to make money.

If they end up selling the 19-year-old to a Belgian club, it will raise the account and help them align with financial regulations.

Ozcan will play regularly next season, and it remains to be seen whether he can establish himself as a key player for Anderlecht. They are one of the largest clubs in Belgium and they can also provide him with the opportunity to win a trophy.

The 19-year-old needs to focus on his development and he needs to compete every week. Sitting on Aston Villa’s bench won’t benefit him. The loan move may be ideal for him.
