Old Tom and Young Tom. Jack and Gary. Tiger and Charlie. There are only three famous father/son duo examples. Yes, you and your little ones may never win professionally, design golf courses, and know, become a Universal superstar.
But with a little luck and some pesos in your pants, you might be able to finish the parts globally. Indeed, in fact, you and your youngest son or daughter have dozens of explosive destinations! – Can pin it and have your life.
Indeed, ideal situations may vary depending on interest. With that in mind and in line with our “Global Travel” ambitions, there are three destinations here – one in the US, one in Canada, and one on the pond – which will make you a fabulous resort.
Great Phoenix, Arizona.
“Sun Valley” is a paradise for golfers. More than 200 golf courses to choose from? Wall to wall sunlight? Can it be said to be the best desert golf ball on earth? Yes, that’s it. Yes, it’s a little toasted in summer. In winter, when northern folks pour in there, things get a little busy and expensive. But Phoenix is also one of the most kid-friendly cities in North America. A world-class zoo, spring training baseball (not to mention many other professional and college sports teams), awesome aquariums, water parks, science centers, desert ATV trips, and more, makes it an excellent choice for kids of any age.
As far as golf goes, there are many fabulous resorts to choose from. These are three.
wigwam
Wigwam is a classic (and elegant) desert oasis, a tried and tested Phoenix resort with luxurious course suites and Casitas, superb dining and three excellent lengths and difficult courses. So whether you are both a beautiful ball pulser or can’t hit it out of the shadow, you’ll find a course that suits your skill level. For example, the Golden Course is a “Big Boy” golf ball (it stretches to nearly 7,400 yards) and is often called one of the best designs of Robert Trent Jones Jones Sr. From there it gradually became easier. There is even a neat little game area to prepare. WIGWAM offers a junior high school interest rate of $25 after 2:30 pm (October to April) and 11 a.m. (May to September).
Biltmore, Arizona
Located 10 minutes north of Phoenix Sky Harbour International Airport, Arizona Biltmore is another legendary Phoenix with a retro vibe. Frank Sinatra and Maryilyn Monroe are regular visitors. While it may be difficult to pry your partner out of The Twist, their 65-foot triple water slide, the new Tom Lehman-designed manor lesson is definitely worth a few laps. Located in the location of an old-style Adobe course, Lehman and his team are totally inspiring the place with a series of sports and creative contour holes that reflect modern games. Of course, this is a type that young people and older people, hackers and hot people can enjoy completely. Juniors compete free on Sunday afternoon (after 3 pm).

WE-KO-PA Casino Resort
The terrain of the cactus immersed in Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation is both a primitive Cholla course designed by Scott Miller and a Saguaro course designed by Coore/Crenshaw, both brilliant desert golf chaos. It’s something exciting, and golf is top-notch for experienced players. After golf, the We-ko-Pa Casino Resort is located on the road at Tiger Stinger, a great place to take a big surprise, enjoy the pool and eat like a craving champion. Maybe there is even time to get to the casino. Juniors (16 years and under) pay 50% of the shelf rate throughout the season.
Calgary/Banff, Alberta
Similar to Western Canada Calgary Denver, Colorado, Alberta sits in the eastern shadow of the Rockies. Known for the Calgary Stampede (always held in early July), Calgary is a scenic city with lots of great golf balls on the doorstep. You and your little Buckeroo also have many opportunities to experience Western culture. Horseback riding, Playboy Ranch, small town rodeo, Pioneer Museum and Heritage Park are just some ideas for experiencing the western way.
As far as golf goes, the best option is to head west for an hour in Kananaskis (there are two amazing Robert Trent Jones Sr. Sr. sr. courses), Canmore, Banff, and Jasper if time allows.
These are two famous resorts that won’t disappoint.
Fairmont Banff Springs
One of Stanley Thompson’s most famous 3-pole decks in Banff is home to the “Devil’s Cauldron” and is a mountain masterpiece of Banff, a barrel list layout located on the towering, snowy peaks and castle-like Fairmont Banff Springs. The golf is great and the views are breathtaking. Before or after golf, walk Banff’s famous streets, ogling waterfalls, cable car rides and hiking iconic trails, which is a great adventure add-on. Junior golf rate is reduced by 50%.

Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge
It’s always a great debate. Which golf course is better, Banff or Jasper? Most golfers you know will nod to Jasper. Why? It’s more forgiving, and the route has barely changed since Thompson designed it in 1925 and ended up around an attractive run at Lac Beauvert. capture? In July 2024, a huge forest fire hit 30% of the town of Jasper and burned countless trees around and around the route. So yes, the course (the opening day of this year is July 1) will see and play for years before the forest is reestablished.
Good news? Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge is nearly unscathed and you can still enjoy many amenities during your stay, such as cycling, hiking and canoeing. The teenager green rate is $130. Additionally, a junior can play for free with a paid adult throughout the season after 3 p.m.

St Andrews, Scotland
You may feel attractive to the “Golf House” pilgrimage. Indeed, for golf enthusiasts, St Andrews in Scotland is perhaps the highest achievement, the Holy Grail.
While the round of old courses is obvious, there are many modern link courses in the field that scores are easier. Kingsbarn, Dubani and Castle lessons immediately came to mind. And, if you’re with beginners, you can spend some time on the 9-hole Balgove golf course in St. Andrews. This is a little gem for beginners, and for juniors it is only 5 euros.
In the backcourt, kid-friendly activities, visiting the impressive ruins of St Andrews Cathedral, St Andrews Castle and the R&A World Golf Museum are some notable choices.
Not surprisingly, there are dozens of boutique hotels, charming B&Bs, vacation rentals and more. But for golfers, nothing compares to a wealthy fortress sitting next to the 17th hole.
In addition to the old courses, the junior golf rate (under 16) has reduced the discount by 50% in all seven courses in the St. Andrews Links Trust.
Old course hotel
Sure, this five-star luxury hotel is tattooed by strange champions, but, within the walls, guests of the legendary old course hotel are hardly suffering. Among the many highlights are some world-class spas, gourmet food and spacious suites overlooking the Lou Cave and the Saisha Beach.
Most importantly, if you are lucky enough to be able to play in one of these games, it really doesn’t matter. You are the winner, even before you jump on the plane. Travel safely. You have valuable goods.
