Tottenham Hotspur coach is New West Brom boss

Ryan Mason has left Tottenham to become the new manager of champion team West Bromwich Albion.

The 33-year-old coach has signed a three-year contract to replace Tony Mowbray of Hawthors.

Mason said: “It’s a huge club with great infrastructure and an incredible fan base and I’m excited about the goals we’ve achieved together.

“After talking to people at the board and club, I firmly believe that Albion is the ideal place for me to be, and I can’t wait to get started.

“I will bring great enthusiasm, dedication and ambition and look forward to a positive future together in such a great club.”

Mason played 70 times for the Spurs but suffered a fractured skull in his Premier League match at Hull in Chelsea, laying off his career in 2018.

He served as a caregiver twice, including in the 2021 Carabao Cup final.

West Brom finished ninth in the championship last season.
