In recent weeks, it has been revealed that Rory McIlroy will play in the DP World India Championship in October and the Australian Open in Real Melbourne in December.
It seems that after completing the professional grand slam, the Northern Irish will become world golfers as Arnold Palmer and Gary players.
In an interview with the sports business, DP World Tour CEO Guy Kinnings talked extensively about McIlroy and its impact on the track, sports and the events he attended.
“He has been involved in the sport at many different levels,” Jin Ning said. “He spoke much better than I was able to do with the sport. So he is an excellent spokesperson.
“He is young enough now to compete in competitions around the world. He always travels, tigers travel.
“When he goes to a tournament, he changes the game. If he goes to a market where we want to expand the golf sport, let superstars like him get interest in business and government interest. Radio. Radio. Satisfied with all the ways we can develop the sport. Because golf has to get rid of some presight, I think it’s right now.”
“What is McIlroy actually doing on the DP World Tour?” asked host Charlie Spence. “Is it a new brand? A new sponsor? A new audience? A new audience? A new audience is reopened to discover some audiences?”
“I think he did all of this,” Kinnings replied. “What you have in Rory, and why we are so lucky, you have someone who is completely attracted to people.
“If he scored 11 wins, wouldn’t that be great? But it’s not Rory.
“His hits at seven and 15, like you’ve never seen before, and then he’s prone to making mistakes.

Appeal at the human level
“No one can imagine this. But people can interact because it’s human, you can see. That moment, when he bent his knees, I mean, I’ve been doing it for 35 years and I’m crying in my eyes. It’s incredible. What he does is that he attracts people on a human level.
“He is also very clear and is a very capable businessman. He already has a technology fund and has started a sports fund.
“At present, all the characters are showing people playing games. We all have had tough times during Kuved and people find that they are attracted to golf because it is the most natural socially distant sport.
“So the sport became stronger, we perfected what we did, we made a good product. But now he can take it to a whole new level.
“He was the sixth guy ever to win a Grand Slam, and it was an extraordinary achievement in winning all four majors and the first European.
“This gives him a platform. He will understand his responsibilities and speak in a way that will help boost the movement in the new region.
“He can easily be where most of the money is, where most eyeballs are, and not necessarily giving the DP World Tour.
“We are lucky.”
