Royal Porthush has long been regarded as a great link course. That’s why it won the honor of hosting the 1951 Open Championship. But since the Open returned in 2019, the club’s profile has surged. Therefore, there are also royal depictions of green fees.
How much does it cost to play royal portraits
Dunluce Links is one of two 18 Halls at Royal Prowush Golf Club and is a course for the Open Open. Designed by legendary course architect Harry Colt, who also designed open hosts Muirfield and Royal Liverpool, Dunluce Links ranked 16th in the world rankings in golf (another Northern Ireland course, Royal County Down, 6th).
In such a respectable course, the visiting golfer can expect to pay a penny to play there. But in recent years, Royal Porthush’s Green Party costs have risen sharply.
If you serve as a visitor in Protush in the spring ahead of the 2019 Open, won by Irish Pro Shane Lowry, you will pay an admission fee of £220 or $276.
To be sure, this is a high price, although it is not close to other top ranked publicly accessible courses in the world.
But things have changed in the six years since opening in 2019. If you are heading to Northern Ireland this year after opening in 2025, you will have to allocate nearly twice the amount of cash, up to £420 or $562.
If you want to visit Portrush and save a few dollars, you can play Valley Links courses for a higher price, or $295.
The most expensive serving time in golf
While Portrush’s green fees are high, they are lower than many major courses in the United States
As of December 2024, the iconic U.S. Open Landlord Pebble Beach will cost you $675 in the race, while one round at Royal Prothush is $100 more than the other. But the former PGA champion and Ryder Cup host’s Whistle Channel was paid for a green fee cake for $735.
Phil Mickelson won the 2021 PGA, Rory McIlroy won the 2012 PGA’s ocean course on Kiawah Island, while the non-winner’s guests were $650. The US Open Anchor Website Pinehurst No. 2 has a green fee of $595.
But outside major locations, prices rise even higher.
The Players Stadium course at TPS Sawgrass is home to the Players Championship at PGA Tour, and the game costs more than $700. But there are no classes compared to Las Vegas’s “Bright Shadow Creek”. If you can score serving time, Shadow Creek will require a $1,250 payment.
As for hosting open champion courses, Trump Turmberry’s AISLARA course is the most expensive. In the famous Scottish link, green fees rose from 545-£1000 ($730-$1,300).
