Astros resigns Tayler Scott as minor league deal

Astronauts have re-signed right-handed Tayler Scott According to Track and Field, a minor league deal was reached. Roma added that Scott has been used with Trisaccharide Land. Over the past week, he was designated as a mission by the Diamondbacks and was elected as a free agent.

Scott and the Astros are also linked to the minor league contract for the 2024 season. It turned out to be a successful arrangement. He entered the club’s opening day roster and made 62 appearances for Houston last year, recording 68 2/3 innings with an average score of 2.23. That era was at least partially misleading. His strikeout rate of 25.2% and 42.4% ground ball rate are good numbers, but his batsman accounts for 12.4%. He got a lot of help in the game with an average score of 0.230 batting and 84.9% stock.

His luck changed this year. In 2/3 of the 16 innings that started with the Astros, his Babip jumped to .313 and his chain rate dropped to 65.2%. His walking rate jumped to 15.4% and his strikeout rate dropped to 20.5%, and he didn’t help himself. These factors helped him start the 5.40 ERA in mid-May.

Since he had no choice, the Astronauts designated him as a mission at the time, which led him to a Rattlesnake. He played nine games with that club, but allowed nine runs. He improved his walking rate, but his opponents beat very little. He stood out from that club’s roster and returned to the open market.

Putting it together, Scott’s ERA was 6.66 ERA in 25 2/3 innings this year. But for the Astronauts, it’s someone they’re familiar with, without a bad little league deal. He will give them some non-warehouse cowshed depth and try to keep things in good shape with the space cowboys.
