Golf Business News – Donald Trump opens new courses at Trump International Golf Link

Donald Trump’s flight visit to the UK comes as the U.S. president officially opens a new course at Trump International Golf Links in Scotland, the second championship venue at Menai Manor and has been called the first.

Trump cut the red ribbon to mark the opening ceremony at which leading politicians, including Scotland’s first minister, John Swinney, and guests including golf industry and internationally renowned professionals. The president was blown into the first T-shirt by the Pipeline Band of Robert Gordon College in Aberdeen.

Trump hit the first tee and drove a drive in the middle of the first fairway, with his son Eric 2014 Ryder Cup European captain Paul McGinley and 2002 US PGA champion Rich Beem and members of the Trump family in the first round of the new route.

With the original old course (launched in 2012), the new course now forms the “36-hole golf” that the Trump Organization is selling.

The 7,589 Code Course is the result of a design process led by Eric Trump, consisting of experienced golf architects, engineers, agronomists and environmental consultants. The project builds on the original linking subject developed by Dr. Martin Hawtree and is brought to life by Golflink Evolve under the guidance of Esie O’Mahoney and Jamie O’Reilly.

This is our Mona Lisa, which will be here for hundreds of years.”

“I firmly believe that both courses are the largest 36 holes you can find anywhere in the world, and we have achieved history, the new course is opened by the President of the United States, and our venue has held two prestigious competitions here, back-to-back this week and the next.”

The official opening also marks the beginning of a two-week professional golf tournament at Trump International, with the Staysure PGA Seniors Championship hosted by Colin Montgomerie taking place from July 31 to August 3, followed by the DP World Tour Nexo Nexo Championship.
