Arsenal target Nico Williams opens contract negotiations with sports club

According to Ben Jacobs, the sports club has had a preliminary discussion with Nico Williams as they want to secure the long-term future of one of their best players.

The 22-year-old Spanish international has attracted the attention of several top European clubs, including Arsenal and Chelsea, after an impressive campaign in La Liga.

Williams’ current contract includes a €58 million release clause, a figure that has attracted potential Premier League suitors.

However, the total cost of ensuring his service is considered high, and the salary requirements and agency fees push the final price beyond the basic terms.

Nevertheless, both Arsenal and Chelsea continued to closely monitor his situation, believing that his talent and potential investment were justified.

In response to growing interest, sports clubs have quickly begun negotiating with players and their representatives on a new deal.

Early discussions included proposals for a wage package that could reach €10 million a year.

If an agreement is reached, the player release clause is expected to increase, making it harder for competitor clubs to trigger action.

Although negotiations are still in the early stages and no final agreement has been reached, Athletics still hope they can convince Williams to put their future into the club.
