The company’s fairway Woods has been on the PGA Tour heater

Chris Gotterup scored a huge victory at the Genesis Scottish Open, the second time in his PGA Tour career and the first Bridgestone Irons in six years, but another company is celebrating the victory.

The rest of Gotterup’s club except his irons are Taylormade, which usually employs BRNR mini drivers, but he chose the Taylormade QI35 5-Wood this week.

Gotterup used 5 woods as his tee on the 72nd hole and he needed to find the fairway on Rory McIlroy’s two leading fairways. Gotterup answered the phone, split the fairways and won low pressure for his second PGA Tour and was also the 17th PGA Tour winner of the Taylormade Fairway Woods this season.

In the context, 32 PGA Tour events have been held so far this season, meaning more than half of them were won by Taylormade Fairway Wood. Now, six of these games were won by Rory McIlroy or Scottie Scheffler, but other events were won by non-contracted players.

Given that the Taylormade is the first fairway wood on the PGA Tour, it’s no surprise that the company is reluctant to use the new QI35, last year’s QI10 or even older models.

But the QI35 Core Fairway GotTerup game is the latest and best game, featuring Chromium Carbon Crown, which helps lower the wood’s CG for increased launch and lower spin. The entire QI35 fairway wood lineup also has an adjustable sleeve on 3 and 5 wood for the first time in Taylormade’s Fairway Wood Line.

The specific head of Gotterup is a unique travel model with only adjustable sleeves, presumably because he wants to flatten the angle of the lie, but otherwise, this is the model you can choose on your own.
