Duncan Keith and Steve Larmer vote for Blackhawk Hall – Hockey Writer – Chicago Blackhawks

The Chicago Blackhawks announced on September 5 that Duncan Keith and Steve Larmer were voted for the Blackhawk Hall of Fame by fans, media and alumni.
In the press release, the team said Keith, 42, was selected from the modern vote, while Larmer, 64, took the traditional vote.
“We are proud to announce that the inaugural Blackhawks community class will include Steve Larmer and Duncan Keith,” said Blackhawks Chairman and CEO Danny Wirtz. “The incredible engagement we see from the Blackhawks, alumni and the media is a testament to the lasting impact of these people on our legendary franchise.”

Keith and Larmer will be part of the inaugural Blackhawks Hall of Fame class, and the team said it will include nine players whose numbers have been retired by the team and have been automatically selected.
The nine players were Glen Hall, Pierre Pitt, Keith Magnusen, Chris Cellios, Bobby Hull, Dennis Savad, Stan Mikita, Tony Esposito and Marian Hosa.
The Hall of Fame class will receive honors on April 11, 2025 when the Blackhawks host rival St. Louis Blues.
Keith is a man, Winnipeg. In 1,256 professional regular season games, Keith scored 106 goals and recorded 540 assists, scoring 646 points, an average of 24:40 ice time.
Keith was a four-time All-Star, winning three Stanley Cup titles with the Blackhawks in 2010, 2013 and 2015. He is the Blackhawks’ all-time leader in defense (135), assists (68) and points (86) in the playoff game (135).

He also won the Norris Trophy twice, again in 2010. He was elected to the 2025 Hockey Hall of Fame class and will be officially selected in November.
“Duncan’s impact on the hockey game was a shocking three Stanley Cup anchors,” Wilts said. “Through elite performances on and on the ice, perseverance and leadership, Duncan helped shape a modern dynasty while cementing himself as one of the best games ever.”
As for Peterborough, Ontario, Larmer, he spent 13 of his 15 NHL seasons with the Blackhawks, completing his career with 441 goals and 571 assists in 1,006 games. He recorded five 40-goal seasons in Chicago, reached 100 points in 1990-91, and posted seven 80 points.

Larmer won the Calder Trophy as Rookie of the Year in 1982-83, and he has played 884 consecutive regular season games with the Blackhawks, the seventh-longest winning streak in NHL history. From 1982-83 to 1992-93, he was also one of nine NHL players, recording 11 70-point seasons.
“Steve is one of the team’s most prolific scorers ever, setting the title for what the Blackhawks mean,” Steve said. “From his outstanding work to his extraordinary Ironman streak, Steve quietly laid the foundation for generations of future Blackhawks players and fans.”
