Emiliano Martinez last season
It wasn’t surprising to see Emi Martinez looking for a move to Manchester United.
He has always been an ambitious player who can achieve the greatest achievement or play in the biggest club, and while Manchester United may be somewhat confused at the moment, they are still the club’s royal family in the football sense.
I remember sitting down to interview Martinez on loan at Reading before he made a breakthrough, and even then you could say he was a player who was unwavering about his abilities.
Things haven’t really happened yet, but he still speaks like someone who knows they will. All I could do was feel was that he was eager to make it to the highest level.
Am I surprised he has continued to do what he has in the game since? Of course I am. Since he was thrown into Arsenal, his career trajectory has gone well due to injury to Bernd Leno.
But, the person who truly believes in himself has never hidden his desire to get to the top of the game.
He fought there and if this move happens to Manchester United, he will make it another important step in his career.

It seems Senne Lammens is now probably the new goal United are most likely to be targeted by the deadline later today.
Our understanding is also still that Andre Onana can leave Manchester United today, but if they shift their focus now to Martinez, will Galatasaray remain one of his suitors.
