Manchester United fan group hit Sir Jim Ratcliffe with fare

The Manchester United Supporters Trust (NUST) has slammed the club’s new “game classification model” which they claim will increase ticket prices for game fans.

Manchester United revealed a four-class system whose cost depends on the quality of the opposition. There are six categories of matches – against Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Newcastle and Tottenham Hotspur – with two matches against Wolves and newly promoted Sunderland, the rest fall into the B category.

Class D is only used in cup competitions.

Ticket categories are listed below:

  • CAT D: £32 – £52 (cup fixture only)
  • CAT C: £37 – £60 (2 x PL fixtures)
  • CAT B: £57 – £86 (11 X PL Fixture)
  • CAT A: £59 – £97 (6 x PL fixture)

The club insists that the move brings “Manchester United to most other Premier League clubs” but it must be said that it is “a new kick for Manchester United fans’ teeth”.

A statement that must be written: “After the development of last season, we may hope that the club will rethink their plans for a new ticketing model that will increase the tempting price of 20,000 supporters per game who will gradually purchase tickets. This is indeed a brand new kick to Manchester United fans’ teeth.

“When the club said they were introducing this new model for member tickets, we urged them to keep most of the games at their current level and only apply to the highest price category of a few of the largest games and lower the price of the lower demand games. They again failed to consult any of the representative agencies of fans and once again competed with their decisions and chose competitive interests in the competition.

“The club’s established commitment to fan representatives is good in principle, but it is not delivered again in practice. The structure is in place, the fan forum and Fab representatives are doing their work, but the club is not following their previous commitments to proper consultations and requires quick changes and rapid changes.”

We need unity – Must

It continues: “What Manchester United needs next season is United fans and clubs, and the team is backed by loyal and voice fans after the disaster last year. These ticketing decisions will only drive these average supporters occasionally and occasionally visitors and create younger fans for the next young fans and stand out in the club. It will be needed more than ever.”

The bank is upset about pacifying United fans by the team’s struggles on the court, but disillusioned by the passing of things.

Ruben Amorim’s side finished 15th in the Premier League last season, while minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe has overseen a range of redundancy while several long-term employees are being cut costs.
