Angels designate Tim Anderson to do homework

Angels announced a series of squads today. They chose the infielder’s contract Scott Kingery And right-handed Robert Stephenson From the list of injured 60 days. To make these two spaces in an active roster Jake Eder Has been selected as Triple Salt Lake and Infielder Tim Anderson Has been assigned as a job. To open another 40-man position, the receiver Chuckie Robinson Has been assigned as a job.

Anderson, 32, signed a minor league contract with the Angels in the offseason next month. Anderson is a former All-Star and batting champion, and his work is behind in 2023 and 2024, which is why he has to reach a minor league agreement. Damage to the infield Zach Neto,,,,, Anthony Rendon and YoánMoncada It opened a path for him to open the roster, but he didn’t do much in terms of opportunity.

Anderson has made a 90-time aura in 31 games. His walking rate is very low at 3.3%, but that’s always his style. Unfortunately, his 32.2% strikeout rate is well above his personal track record and league average. He only had three extra hits, all of them doubles. All of these add up to .205/.258/.241 lines and 42 WRC+.

As mentioned earlier, Anderson was an All-Star and Batting Champion. From 2019 to 2022, he cut 123 WRC+ of .318/.347/.473. But from 2023 to now, he has 855 boards appearing with .232/.269/.270 series and 49 WRC+. With other players healthy and/or performance better than Anderson, he was squeezed out of the roster. He may be abandoned in the next few days, but he may not be interested considering his ongoing struggles. If he passes an unclaimed waiver, he will have the right to elect a free agent.

His game time seemed to be going to Kingery, who was acquired from the Phillies in the offseason but then achieved success from the 40s. He performed well on Triple-A Salt Lake this year, and although it is necessary to use these numbers with some of the cereals in the lake, these numbers need to be routed on .373/.418/.578. The Bees play in the batsman-friendly Pacific Coast League, Kingery also has a huge .433 hit on the ball in the game that he will not be able to sustain.

Still, it is understandable to think that he has a better bet than Anderson. Kingery’s Major League Baseball record isn’t strong, but he scored 0.268/.316/.488 Slash and 103 WRC+ last year, and last year, the Phillies’ Triple-A club. He also stole 25 bases in the second base, shortstop and midfield. Given that Anderson has been struggling, Kingery doesn’t need to be a star of upgrade.

And more.
