Angel Thorough Chad Stevens – MLB Trade Rumors

Angel assigned to the infielder Chad Stevens According to the Transactions Tracker on Stevens’ MLB.com profile page, it’s very different from Triple-A Salt Lake. Stevens was previously designated as homework by Angels on weekends.

Stevens, 26, was the Astros’ 11th round pick in the 2021 draft. He steadily climbed the minor league ladder in Houston until he reached the Double-A level in 2023. He hit a middleing .220/.333/.397 in 122 games with Corpus Christi that year, and made a return to the level in 2024. Repeating a level for the first time in his career did not go especially well, as Stevens hit just .153/.242/.235 in 95 plate appearances before the Astros decided to release him in May last year. Stevens didn’t linger in the market for a long time after being cut by Houston, as he was signed by Angels later that month in a minor league deal.

After joining the Angels, Stevens returned to High-A to regain his foothold after Double-A struggles. After making fantastic numbers in 44 games, Stevens was promoted and reached a stronger .316/.359/.491 in 17 games against Double-A Rocket City. This small sample is enough to convince Angel Brass to promote Stevens to the Triple Salt Lake, although he does have the highest level at the .238/.289/.345 slash, which is the highest level for minors.

Fortunately for Stevens and The Angels, who returned to Salt Lake in early 2025, quickly proved that he was dealing with the challenges Triple-A has to offer. Stevens hit .302 with a base rate of 0.389 in the first 72 games of the year and beat .542. In the heart of the organization, this is enough to win his first major league call at the age of 26. He arrived in Anaheim on July 3 and entered five games, although he struck out with a 50% strikeout in the Grand Slam with a 50% strikeout rate before being sent back to the minors. After returning to Triple-A, Stevens’ 2025 season started a warm start. He hit a more pedestrian .258/.348/.403 in 44 games, and then he was assigned as a mission last week, making room for leftists Sammy Peralta In a 40-man lineup.

Since Stevens does not have the necessary service time or a direct rejection of the mission beforehand, he will return to Triple-A and be an Angel’s non-promoter depth before the end of the season. But without joining the 40-man roster before the offseason starts, he will have a chance to return to minor league free agents and test the open market this winter. Stevens has experience throughout the infield Zach Neto,,,,, Karen Paris,,,,, Christian Moore, even Oswald Peraza All numbers are preferred on the Anaheim depth chart, not people like Stevens. This could mean he would be better at finding roles elsewhere, perhaps in organizations with less infield depth in the lineup.
