Golf Business News – Golf enables users to pre-buy balls and rent clubs online before serving time

Now with Golfnow’s booked engine technology for golf courses, there are more opportunities to capture step-by-step sales before golfers arrive at their courses.
Golf balls and use the rental club online at Tee Time Checkout in Golfnow. This new feature not only provides golfers with simplicity in adding items they need, but it also helps the golf course improve sales. Ball and rental clubs use range balls as pre-purchase option.
According to the National Golf Foundation, golf balls remain the main driver of equipment sales. While hardware sales were relatively flat year-on-year, the purchase of balls increased by 7%. Golfers lose one to four balls per round on average, up to 100 balls per year. This new golf feature provides an opportunity for the golf course to simplify the golfer process, when golfers focused on the upcoming rounds and were available to purchase.
The new project is for golf course operators who can enable this feature in their golf booking engine technology. The ability to view these items on the Golfnow app is currently under development.
“The demand for a mobile experience by golfers only increases over time, so if you don’t take advantage of such a service, you may lose it,” said Todd Triplett, senior vice president of Golfnow. “Powering revenue, increasing efficiency and improving customer service are three important reasons for any operator to find more and more.”
“Increasing golf sales into our course booking engine checkout stream has been our game changer,” said Jeannette Karnes, general manager of Beckett Ridge Golf Club in West Chester, Ohio. “It’s convenient for our golfers and creates new revenue streams without any additional boost from our staff. It’s exactly the innovation we need to enhance the player experience and enhance our bottom line.”
