Ranking

Aidan Park is a sophomore qualified two-way forward who, despite being expected as a transit draft pick, was surprisingly undrafted in 2024. He shouldn’t be standing out again after his strong season with the Green Bay Gamblers in the USHL. His draft stock has recently climbed, jumping from No. 151 in the mid-term ranking to No. 94 in the final ranking, one of the biggest moves among qualified players.

Parker has made progress in his career, publishing a lot of numbers on every level. In Shattuck St., he was selected as third in the USHL futures draft in 2022, and later joined the Gambler later in the 2023-24 season.

Park is a comprehensive striker with some ability to play, high hockey IQ and heavy shooting. He also brings position versatility to play center, right and left, which adds his potential as future depth. He scored 66 points in 55 games at Green Bay, ranked second in the USHL for the 2024-25 season and fifth in the USHL, a testament to his ability to create offenses known for his close-checking style.

Park scored most of the goals from slots and net front free throws, shooting for a lot of rebounds when hitting the net.

In addition to offensive productions, Parker has a defensive responsibility, consistently performing backward checks and blocking many forwards’ shots. While his defensive game doesn’t always draw attention to his scoring numbers, it’s an underestimated part of his skills. He also brought in playoff experience, playing in the Clark Cup playoffs twice, despite Green Bay being eliminated in the first round of last season. Even if the playoffs are short, this level of competition will be valuable to his development.

With all-out offensive play, reliable defensive details, and flexibility in NCAA development in Ann Arbor’s advanced program, Park is a great early transit option, which I mentioned in my previous Columbus Blue Jacket Simulation Draft article.

Aidan Park – NHL draft prediction

I’ll take the park somewhere in the early rounds – the third or fourth feels right. I like him as a occupying potential client with a real advantage. Not sure how he ignored it in the 2024 NHL Draft, but after his season at Green Bay, he won another sight. With his size, motors and two-way gaming, he’s the kind of draft pick that can solidify value online.

quotation marks

“Parker is a smart center with an opaque motor and defensive defensive habit. He combines constant movements with the skills of the hockey, the hockey protection and a confident defensive game. He often scans and plays quickly, gets tennis quickly, and shoots with strength and precision speed.” – EliteProspects 2025 NHL Draft Guide

“Aidan is in the highest unit of the gambler. He has great awareness in a strong two-way game where he can read breakthrough attempts and intercept passes. He uses this awareness when he reads an amazing person in the neutral zone. When he reads an amazing person in the neutral zone; when he intercepts his team, his teammates can’t do strange runs, which puts him in a strange run. – Neutral zone

“Parker is still one of the more prolific players in the Gambler. Many of his successes stem from his ongoing efforts and awareness of high-quality shooting of hockey. He has a way to get into the right areas and time right, and his shots are just right. He can get the opponent close to the goalkeeper and thus make the shots good, which allows him to break the ability to shoot. Start shooting from that point.” – Neutral Zone

NHL Potential

I’ve seen the park move forward in the top six NHL. His versatility, hard work on hockey and brings a reliable two-way game. Heading to the University of Michigan, he had a great opportunity to adapt to the NCAA’s rigorous checking style and focus on development with a smaller scale.

The program was recently an NHL factory, which eliminated talent like Adam Fantilli, Dylan Larkin, Zach Werenski, Kent Johnson, Zach Hyman and Kyle Connor. How a huge top ten of this season is piled up, and he will be tested every weekend. This is a great setting for him to grow up.
