After overcoming Eva Leys

Defending champion Coco Gauff defeated Eva Leys in a row and entered the Chinese Open semi-final for the third time in a row.

The third place in the world, it took an hour and 28 minutes to overcome her German rival 6-3 6-4.

The American was a two-time Grand Slam champion, breaking Leyce three times in the opening game, converting three of her four breakpoint opportunities.

“I’m happy with my game – she’s a strong opponent, she’s played some incredible shots in the run, but I tried to play aggressive and excellent tennis,” Goff said.

“I think I’m confident in my game [was important]. I played a passive point in the last game when I got the lead, but after that I played a good tennis ball. ”

Gauff sometimes fought her serve this season, and she scored 79% of her first-time service percentage throughout the game.

The 21-year-old, who was eliminated by Wimbledon in the first round after winning the French Open earlier this year, is now the highest-ranked player in the game.

She will face Amanda Anisimova or Jasmine Paolini in the semifinals.
