Man United Target Jean-Philippe Mateta participates in palace deal negotiations

With Crystal Palace relocating to ensure Jean-Philippe Mateta signing a new long-term deal, Manchester United’s forward search hit another hurdle, effectively blocking any potential action to Old Trafford.
Mateta’s current contract lasts until 2027, and as the palace prepares for the European competition led by Oliver Glasner, they are keen to keep his services.
Former Manchester United and Blackburn scout Mick Brown revealed that the Hawks are “confident” in the final union with the 27-year-old striker.
Rown explained that negotiations first began in December to resist the interests of competitors.
United have been closely monitoring Mateta, but the forwards cannot refuse clubs that he can’t refuse unless they receive a Champions League offer, and the Palace is confident they will keep him.
Manchester United’s target Matata participates in new contract negotiations
“I would be surprised if Martita joined Manchester United now.” He told football insiders.
“The palace has been trying to negotiate a new contract and they are making good progress.
“I think I’ve said it before, but judging from the fact that I heard that he was very happy with the palace.
“If he was leaving, I think it had to be a club that was in the Champions League, which was basically an offer he couldn’t refuse.
“I’m not sure if they care too much about his interests.
“The Palace looks like they will play in the Europa League and he is part of the Glasner plan so he has no reason to go anywhere else.
“Especially not Manchester United, because the palace is the better choice at the moment.
“So, as far as I know, the palace has the confidence that they can associate him with the new contract.”
Ruben Amorim is actively looking for striker

Manchester United’s pursuit has exacerbated uncertainty at their current striker.
Despite missing out on their dream forward Viktor Gyokeres, they continue to explore alternatives, with Mateta previously tagged as a major contender on the shortlist.
While United are actively looking for a reliable central striker, Crystal Palace’s move secures Mateta for a new deal, which looks like it has effectively ruled out a transfer this summer.
The Red Devils may now have to focus on other targets, such as Juventus attacker Dusan Vlahovic, who asked for a high-wage package to move to Old Trafford.
