Which underrated golfers have an impressive U.S. public record?

There is no doubt that the five favorites ahead of the U.S. Open this week have a staggering record in the third major tournament this year.
Scottie Scheffler has finished in the top 7 in three of the last four editions and has finished in the top 10 with just 23 major appearances.
Bryson DeChambeau is a two-time U.S. Open champion, finally five U.S. professional champions in the top six.
Rory McIlroy won the 2011 U.S. Open and finished second in the final two contract extensions of the tournament.
Jon Rahm won the 2021 U.S. Open, his top 12 in four of his last five games.
Xander Schauffele opened eight games in the United States, anything but the top 15.
But what about the rest of the field?
Is each of the four specialists an American public expert? Some of these names may surprise you.
1. Russell Henley
This year’s Arnold Palmer Invitational winner (usually said to be a major test), when the T16 made its debut in 2010.
He struggled a little over the next few years, but it reflected his career.
When he picked up the stuff, he also resumed the public achievements in the United States.
In 2017, he hit the seventh hole with 18 holes.
He was the first round leader in 2018.
He shared the lead all week until the final round of 2021.
He ranked seventh in 2023 and last year at T14.
It was a masterful journal, and he was ranked fifth in the Memorial Championships for the last time.
2. Harris English
The Georgian played in nine games in the United States and never missed a layoff.
More importantly, he has been particularly good in recent years.
He ranked fourth in 2020, third in 2021, and eighth in 2023.
He further proved his open course for us when he won this year’s Torrey Pines to win this year’s Farmers Insurance Open.
He also performed well this year.
He was T12 in the Masters and ranked second in the PGA Championship.
3. Danny McCarthy
The Maryland man has never played in the PGA Tour, but he is probably the best putter in the game right now.
This is a quality that is usually not related to the U.S. Open.
It is generally believed that long-term gaming experts thrive on these long-term courses.
But McCarthy was surprisingly good.
He first performed when he was a young professional in 2015 and 2016.
Then there was a long gap until 2022 and he found that the test was right for him.
He ranked seventh in 2022, seventh in 2023 and third in 2024 (although in the top 100 after 18 holes).
