This summer, Arsenal will buy a new left in the market, and one of their targets is believed to be Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho.
The Gunners have been linked to several left-wingers in recent months, hoping to sign for Gabriel Martinello or Leandro Trossard — none of them have been asked for in the past 12 months.
Nico Williams and Anthony Gordon are just two players Arsenal is following, and the latest name to be targeted is Man United Outcast Garnacho, who made it clear that he wants to leave Old Trafford this summer.
Arsenal and Chelsea ask Alejandro Garnacho
As Gaston Edul (via TeamTalk) reported, Arsenal and London rival Chelsea also asked about details about what Garnacho might have reached. A club from outside England who wanted to be named did the same thing, but it is believed that the Argentine international would prefer to stay in the Premier League.
Garnacho is still only 20 years old and is believed to be asking for £50m, which could be very good value for a player who shows at the stage that he is a competent Premier League player. He scored 11 goals in all games last season and provided 10 assists in all games, so there is no doubt that he is talented.
Interestingly, the report notes that United would rather not sell Garnacho to Arsenal or Chelsea, both of which they see as direct competitors. So if any club takes action in the second summer transfer window, this could be difficult in negotiations. At present, the situation is still open.
