This summer, Arsenal and Human United have both become new strikers in the market, and they both set their sights on Viktor Gyokeres. The Sports CP man is expected to enter the Premier League after an incredible scoring season in 2024-25, with him having only 52 appearances and 54 appearances.
Manchester United has intensified their interest in gyokeres in recent days, hoping to complete the offensive Trident with Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo. But his chances of reuniting with Ruben Amorim of Old Trafford seem to have decreased.
Viktor Gyokeres prefers to join Arsenal instead of United
According to the Mirror, Gyokeres prefers to join Arsenal this summer, which is believed to have been communicated to sports. The Gunners have him and Benjamin Sesko as two candidates for the forward position, and despite the recent moves of the RB Leipzig man, these developments can still be seen switching.
After two years at the club, Sports is preparing to sell Gyokerers this summer, with only 102 appearances in all competitions, including only 97 goals. They demanded a fee of more than £60m, which is affordable for Arsenal.
While the news is not very good for Manchester United, it is believed that Gyokerers will still welcome moving to Old Trafford if it is to be achieved. If Arsenal prioritizes the signing of Cesco, it will give the suffered Europa League finalists a great chance to get their men.
This summer, it remains to be seen where Gyokeres finally arrives. Arsenal may have an advantage now, but the prolific Swedish striker still has a chance to join Man United’s former manager Amorim.
