Cleveland is “open” to Darius Garland deal?

According to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, Cleveland Cavaliers guard Darius Garland “maybe there can be potential trade under the right circumstances.

“I think there are some beliefs that, in the right situation, may be possible with Darius Garland … I think the Knight is listening and open-minded,” Windhorst said on ESPN Cleveland on Thursday.

The Cavaliers have underperformed this season

Although the Cavaliers had the best record at this year’s Eastern Conference, they lost to the Indiana Pacers in the semifinals in five games.

Cleveland started the season with a 15-0 record and won three 10-game winning streak. The Cavaliers also ended the regular season with the second best record in team history.

Additionally, the Cavaliers joined the Washington Capitol in 1948-49, the Houston Rockets in 1993-94 and the Golden State Warriors in 2015-16, and were the only teams to start the season with 15 or more consecutive victories.

Darius Garland has an excellent season

For the Cavaliers, trading a garland may not be the best idea.

In 75 games (all starts), the Wreath averaged 20.6 points, 2.9 rebounds, 6.7 assists and 1.2 steals while shooting the highest percentage at 47.2%, while Deep scored 40.1%.

According to basketball reference, he led all players this season during the season’s bound time. In addition, the two All-Stars ranked ninth in the league, with assists (506) and three-pointers (212) finished 18th.

Every Spotrac, Garland has three years left for contracts, adding two years and $128.4 million to the eligibility starting on July 8. His deal also includes a 15% trade bonus.

Knights $13 million in second apron

According to ESPN’s Bobby Marks, the Cavaliers’ $30 million tax on luxury, while the second-layer apron is $13 million. They will pay about $57 million, the largest tax in franchise history.

In addition to retaining free agent abilities, Cleveland has the lowest exceptions for second rounds and veterans.

However, Cavaliers are not allowed to aggregate contracts, using more than 100% of the traded players, send cash or sign a waiver, the player has a salary of $14.1 million or more.

As for draft assets, the Cavaliers’ 2031 or 2032 first-round picks (but not both) are the only option they can trade. Cleveland owe Utah Jazz or Phoenix Suns in 2027 and 2029, while Utah or Atlanta Hawks have the right to swap first in 2026 and 2028.

They also have four second rounds.
