Nick Solak elects free agent

Infielder/outfielder Nick Solak Free agents have been elected, according to his trading tracker on MLB.com. He was completely covered up by the pirates yesterday, but has the right to refuse the task because he was directly engaged in his career.

Solak, 30, will now head to the open market to find his next opportunity. He made a minor league deal with the Buccaneers and then started a good start. In 32 triple matches, he hosted a massive .393/.452/.625 hitting line. This is partly due to the unsustainable .422 hit average hit, but Solak also draws the walk with 9.5% of the clip, only 13.5% of the time.

It’s enough to get him into the major leagues, but he doesn’t have a lot of playing time in Pittsburgh. In nearly three weeks in the roster, he has only 11 cricket appearances in four games, recording only one single with no additional hit percentage.

Bucs are Nick Gonzalez Stand out of the injured list. Solak is not selected and therefore must be completely removed from 40 people. The other 29 clubs have a chance to get him off the waiver, so he may look for another minor league deal in the coming days.

Broadly speaking, he usually performs well among minors, but does not have specialized. He has 0.250/.325/.369 lines and 91 WRC+ in the major leagues. This includes his hot start when he first promoted in 2019. Since then, he has .243/.314/.350 lines and 86 WRC+. His history goes back to the same 2019 season, with his farm having a 0.291/.379/.472 line, while WRC+ lowers 118 WRC+ Down.

Defensively, he plays almost all positions on Diamonds, but he doesn’t consider a powerful fielder. In recent years, he has been limited to the corner of the field, first base, and occasionally at second base.
