Men’s City with Lyon midfielder Rayan Cherki agrees to personal terms

Manchester City is closing one of Europe’s most exciting young offensive talents, with Fabrizio Romano confirming that the Premier League giant has reached a comprehensive deal with Lyon star Rayan Cherki.

The 21-year-old Frenchman, widely regarded as one of the brightest prospects in Ligue 1, has been on City’s radar for months and is now watching moving to the Etihad Stadium.

The French offensive midfielder is linked to the relocation to Liverpool, but Manchester City won the game to sign him this summer.

Pep Guardiola is considered an admirer of Cherki’s creativity, which is not surprising after his season with Lyon.

If the agreement is completed, Cherki will be the main signing for Manchester City’s first summer window, and another statement of their intention to refresh and evolve after the trophy-free season.
