France reveals 2025 results: Alfie Hewett and Gordon Reid meet in wheelchair singles second round

Britain’s Alfie Hewett and Gordon Reid will face each other in the second round of French open-air wheelchair singles after starting their campaign with an advantageous victory.
The second seed Hewitt only took 57 minutes to beat Chile’s Alexander Qatardo 6-1 6-0, while Reed beats French wildcard Nicholas Chariller 6-0 7-5.
The two are long-term doubles partners and are the five-time defending champions in Paris.
But Hugwitt won the two’s past six singles Grand Slam matches, including a 6-0 6-4 victory in the quarterfinals of the French Open last year.
Hewett won the French Open three times, the most recent in 2021, while Reid was second twice.
World No. 2 Hewett is in good shape and has won four past Grand Slam titles, including Wimbledon last year and this year’s Australian Open.
