Golf Business News – John Deere expands title sponsorship for PGA Tour events

John Deere signed a multi-year extension with the PGA Tour, which will allow the leading turf machinery company to continue as champion sponsor of the John Deere Classic until 2030.

The extension agreement also includes the continuation of John Deere’s global official marketing partner program, as Deere retains the official golf course equipment supplier for the PGA Tour, the official golf course equipment supplier for the TPC Network, the official utilities of the PGA Tour, the official lawn mower for the PGA Tour, the official lawn mower for the PGA Tour, the official tractor for the PGA Tour, the official tractor for the PGA Tour and the official tractor for the official golf tour and the PGA Company.

The 2025 John Deere Classic, held July 3-6 at TPC Deere, Illinois, marks the next chapter’s partnership dates back 25 years, making John Deere one of the longest champion sponsors on the PGA Tour.

The competition originally opened four cities when it first started in 1971, but was renamed the John Deere Classic in 1999 after John Deere became the champion sponsor. The competition raised more than $185 million for local charities.

“I was impressed by passionate fans’ performances with Quad Cities Community, year after year, and it really reflects Deere & Company,” said Jay Monahan, PGA Tour Commissioner. “For over 25 years, Deere & Company has promoted four rounds of city with John Deere Classic of TPC Deere Run, and PGA Tour is honored to be able to extend this valuable partner for the next decade.”

John May, Chairman and CEO of Deere & Company, said: “John Deere Classic remains a strong expression of us as a company – a deep connection with our customers – dedicated to our hometown communities and proud of our people in our hometown.

A recent study by John Deere Classic estimates that the impact of the tournament is about $70 million a year on the economies of the four-city area. This estimate includes money spent on travel, food and accommodation, purchasing goods and services to support competitions, and not requiring a purchase if a tournament is not present.

“John Deere Classic Long has been a major sporting event in the four cities,” Championship director Andrew Lehman said. “When Deere launched the ‘Concert’ concert in the course in 2023, it expanded the appeal of the competition to the appeal of the crowd thrown to golf – and the beauty of the TPC deere running – for the first time the event’s annual economic and philanthropic impact continues.

John Deere’s world headquarters is located just a few miles from the TPC Deere Run course, built specifically for hosting John Deere Classics. Each of its 18 holes is named after a groundbreaking moment in the history of the community.

The Deere family tried to ensure that the property remained original at all times, and the directive began when Deere’s granddaughter acquired the land in 1911. In the construction of TPC Deere Run, architects Da Weibring and Chris Gray made careful routes on the sacred American local burial mounds in the area, both identified in an architectural study in a complex by the family and Deere & Company and were here established by Deere & Deere & Company.

Past match winners include Steve Stricker (2009, 2010, 2011), Zach Johnson (2012) and Jordan Spieth (2013, 2015), who won his first Pro Tour at the John Deere Classic. In 2024, Davis Thompson scored a final round of 64 and won four, winning with his first career PGA Tour while setting a new tournament record with 28. This year’s tournament’s prize money is $8.4 million, an increase of $400,000 from last year’s event.
