White Socks Release Dan Altavila

White Sox releases right-handed relief Dan Altavilaaccording to MILB.com’s transaction log. He has been reaching agreements in the minor leagues and pitching in Charlotte and their Triple-A branch.
Altavilla, 32, has 2.49 ERA in 21 2/3 frames with the Cavaliers this season, including the last 11 2/3 closed innings. His opponent has only 19.8% walking rates but 11% walking rates for the open air rate, but it’s a good choice for traveler Righty, who averages 96.1 mph on the four-player level in Charlotte while producing a low-key hard hit rate of 24.6%.
Altavila is a seven major league season veteran who did a great job with the Mariners early in his career. From the 2016-18 season, he reached the average running average of 3.28 with a strikeout rate of 25.3% and a walking rate of 10.7%. However, there is limited sustained injury and Altavila has limited time on the scene. He has managed only 40 innings since his early game in Seattle.
The flexor strains in 2018 and 2019 shortened Altavilla’s two seasons with the Mariners. He struggled with the 5.52 ERA in the latter campaign and in 2020 with Austin Nola and Austin Adams In the unbalanced transaction sent Andres Munoz,,,,, France,,,,, Louis Torrence and Taylor Trammell From San Diego to Seattle. Altavill then underwent surgery by Tommy John in 2021, which eliminated almost all of his 2021-22 seasons.
Altavila won a brief major league return with the 2024 Royals, throwing 3 2/3 innings for Kansas City. He was marked six times in a short time and was subsequently assigned as homework. The former fifth-round draft pick joined the Royals’ top minor league branch in Omaha for the rest of the 2024 season, where he recorded 41 innings with a 3.51 ERA with a league average of 22.2% strikeout rate and 12.9% walking rate. Interest rate statistics are shaky, but the 44 2/3 frames between the triple A and the Grand Slam are the most in a season since 2019.
There is no indication that Altavila is dealing with any kind of injury in 2025. As is the case in 2024, Altavilla’s rate statistics are a bit shaking, but he throws hard, limiting the tough contact and keeping the board running. This should soon bring him new opportunities.
