Steeler’s content on Rudolph is QB1, if Rogers turns around

The Pittsburgh Steelers are happy to move forward with Mason Rudolph as Aaron Rodgers opted against starting quarterbacks returning to the court.

According to NFL insider Dan Graziano, if Rodgers decide to call Rudolph the day after 20 seasons in the league.

However, Rogers recently gave up on a big tip that he will sign with the Steelers during a public Q&A hosted by rapper Mike Stud.

A fan asked the 41-year-old if he had ever played for the Chicago Bears – he answered that – but admitted that he could play in Big Wind this year.

Why haven’t Aaron Rodgers signed with the Steelers yet?

Rogers delayed his decision due to personal matters. As he revealed recently in Joe Rogan’s experience, some people approached him to deal with health issues.

The legendary QB is considered the best QB of all time, arguably the worst season of his career, with 11 interceptions in 2024 in New York’s 5-12 shooting matches, the worst season of his career.

He has to prove that he can still compete at the highest level of the NFL, especially after the devastating Achilles tendon tear in 2023. The Rodgers-led Jets offense ranked 24th in the league in yards per game, scoring every game last year.

Rodgers led the Green Bay Packers to Super Bowl glory in the 2010 season and won the league MVP in 2011, 2014, 2020 and 2021.

Over the years, he has led many key categories in the NFL, such as:

  • Touchdown to Entanglement Ratio (2011, 2012, 2014, 2018, 2020, 2021)
  • Minimum pass interception percentage (2009, 2014, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021)
  • Passer Rating (2011, 2012, 2020, 2021)
  • Touchdown pass percentage (2011, 2012, 2020, 2021)
  • Total touchdowns (2011, 2016, 2020)
  • Touchdown Pass (2016, 2020)
  • Codes per attempt (2011)]
  • Percent Completed (2020)

There is no doubt that Rogers’ greatness is, but whether he can still reach these heights is a completely different thing. His age caught up with him like his body, and the Steelers were ready to move forward with Rudolph as they turned around.

If Rogers quits

The intention of Rodgers to sign with the Steelers has been the league’s worst secret, but if it doesn’t happen, Pittsburgh won’t lose any sleep.

Back in March, the Steelers agreed to a two-year contract with Rudolph to restore their former third-round pick with the Tennessee Titans.

Justin Fields and Russell Wilson started their trip to Pittsburgh’s two QBs last year, moving to Big Apple – joining the New York Jets and the New York Giants, respectively.

In his final season with the Steelers’ first spell, Rudolph took over the starter in the second half of the year and led the team to the playoffs with a 3-0 record.

The 29-year-old was 8-4-1 in his Steelers career but retreated in the only season at Tennessee, stepping on the injured Will Levis five times, starting 1-4 from five games.

Rudolph played eight games for the Titans last season, completing 437 of 686 pass attempts (63.7%) in 1,530 yards, nine touchdowns and nine interceptions.
