France Open 2025 Results: Coco Gauff

Previously, Russian teenager Mirra Andreeva defeated Cristina Bucsa forward-though she joked that she didn’t like early morning wake-up calls.

The 18-year-old walked out in Paris for the first time in court on Tuesday morning at Suzanne Lenglen.

Andreeva played his first Grand Slam, becoming a top ten seed, recovering from a double breakout deficit in the first set to win 6-4 6-3.

“To be honest, it’s very difficult,” Andreva said.

“I’m not so happy because I don’t like getting up early.”

Daniil Medvedev, the 11th-ranked men’s world, also complained about the early start, and he joked that he might “boycott” the morning game.

However, his ticket price was not as good as Andreeva, losing to England’s Cameron Norrie in five sets of epic epics.

Andreeva added: “I had to wake up at 6.40 and then I had 35 minutes to pack my luggage and do everything.

“And then I had breakfast 25 minutes, came here 30 minutes, and then I spent 11 minutes in the locker room and we warmed up and went to court.

“It’s a very meticulous plan.”

Andreeva, who entered the semifinals of Roland Garros last year, will next face Suzan Lamens of the Netherlands.

Elsewhere on Tuesday, two-time Wimbledon finalist Ons Jabeur suffered an early exit after Poland’s Magdalena Frech beat 7-6 (7-4) 6-0.

The third seed of the United States, Jessica Pegula, made the second round with a 6-2 6-4 win over Romania’s ANCA Todoni.
