NL East Notes: Montas, Blackburn, Manaea, Nola, Finnegan

Frankie Montas He saw his first proper game during Saturday’s 2025 season, when the right-handed threw 37 innings for High-A Brooklyn in the first game of the minor league rehabilitation mission. Montas signs a two-year, $34mm free agent deal with The Montas metropolis Past winter, but immediately after the start of spring training, was stressed by severe LAT situations. Saturday’s game officially kicked off Montas’ 30-day clock for his recovery mission, and he naturally needed to further activate his multiple outings on the 60-day injury list to further strengthen his arm strength.
Paul Blackburn Montas should be defeated back to the active roster, as Blackburn plans to join the Mets sometime in June to make his seventh and last small league recovery outing before joining the Mets. Blackburn missed the entire major league season with inflammation in his right knee, and Sean Manaea Due to the inclined strain, it has not yet been pitched. Manaea abandoned a mound, and the New York Post’s Jon Heyman wrote that Manaea’s expected timeline was about two weeks behind Montas. Despite all these pitching injuries, even the interim version of the Mets rotation has achieved a huge result this season, which allows the club’s potential arm surplus to address whether and when it’s healthy.

- this Philadelphia It’s another club relatively deep in starting pitching, although they probably don’t Aaron Nola A longer 15-day minimum term on the injured list. Manager Rob Thomson told Lochlahn of Philadelphia Inquirer and other journalists in March that Nola’s ankle sprain still felt pain, causing Nola to cancel Nola’s plan to start throwing the mound this weekend. Nola’s IL placement began on May 15, and although Thomson didn’t have persistent discomfort due to any major setbacks, he suggested that Nola might need to face some live batsmen before activation (whether in the form of live batting practice or minor league recovery).
- national near Kyle Finnegan Although manager Davey Martinez told Masnsports.com’s Mark Zuckerman, some shoulder fatigue is being dealt with, although the tests have not revealed any structural issues. Finnegan hasn’t pitched in Washington’s last two games, but he can avoid the il iL and have another day or two rest. Finnegan has an ERA of 2.41 innings this season and will be a highly sought-after pitcher in the trade deadline if the nationals cannot compete. Relief’s secondary figures (such as 3.69 Siera and slightly below average strikeout and walking rates) were impressive, but Finnegan had a ground rate of 48.1% and did a great job in inducing soft contact.
