NC State Basketball Adds Former Texas Tech Star Darrion Williams

He announced on social media that Texas Tech transfer Darrion Williams is the sixth player on the transfer portal for every 247 Sports and ON3.
“Thank you for your skills!” Williams posted on X. “I won't trade these things over the last two years. Lubbock is my second home and there's always a special place in my heart.”
Williams, who pulled out of the 2025 NBA Draft earlier this week, chose North Carolina State instead of Kansas and Ohio State, sources told ESPN's Jeff Borzello. He is the expected second-round draft pick but chose to return to college to try to raise his stock to next year.

according to Raleigh News & ObserverWilliams had previously told CBS Sports' Isaac Trotter that he focused on the combine and did not answer the coach's call.
But Williams also said he would be willing to return to school if it was his best decision.
“I'm willing to accept it, but I want to fill the draft,” Williams said. “I don't want one foot and one foot. If I have to go back, I'll go back.” [but] I want to browse the draft [process]. This is the first time I have done this. ”
NC State ranks 12th in 247Sports' transfer portal ranking
Williams, who was 6-foot-6 and weighed 225 pounds, started his career in a season at Nevada before moving to Texas Tech in 2023. Last season, he received first-team global 12 honors with Texas first team, earning Texas Tech honors after averaging 15.1 points, 5.5 rebounds and 3.6 assists.
In the Big 12, he ranked 11th with points (512), 20th with total rebounds (186), 15th with assists (123), sixth with shooting percentage (43.9%) and fourth with real shooting percentage (62%).
In the NCAA Championship with the Red Raiders, he scored at least 20 points in each of his last three games, averaging 23.7 points, 6.7 rebounds and 3.0 assists in the field.
NC State ranked 12th in the 247Sports Transfer Portal rankings, adding one five-star and five four-star recruits. Wolfpack is also ranked 15th in the United States, serving in the recruitment rankings, winning two five-star players and six four-star players.
