This simple, stylish and small shelf bag is built for serious walkers

In the pre-King era, I was worried about a golf bag trend: they just became bigger unnecessarily. I'm not just talking about shopping bags. Even the lightest carrying bags on the market are getting bigger and bigger.

Seriously, people are going to put these things on these things? Change clothes add Round lunch?

I do not understand. For me, the only thing that needs to hold on the golf bag is six golf balls, t-shirts, ball markers, Sharpie Marker, gloves, towels, a raincoat, and of course 14 clubs. That's it.

Thankfully, we've seen more people walk again due to the pandemic golf boom, which is the best way to play games, while bagmakers follow the trend with smaller, lighter designs.

Some of my recent favorites also tend to be minimalist aesthetics and have form matching features.

Under Sun Mountain rival Swift, we have an Uber premium and clean bag, which is also Walker’s dream.

Basic knowledge

Matchplay Swift Sunday is a smaller version of Sun Mountain’s new Match Rack Bag. This is the company's latest player to enter the premium bag space, which has been composed of Titleist, Westel and Stitch over the years. Many of these golf bags have been popping out using vinyl materials that make the bag durable but also clean.

The downside is that these bags can be on the heavier side.

With Matchplay Swift Sunday, Sun Mountain has evolved very compactly and consistent with the design, shrinking the top to just 5.25 inches, which is less than two inches than the standard version with a 3-up top. The result is a 4.75-pound bag, rather than the larger version of 5.4-pound.

Despite its short stature, the bag still has six pockets: a full-length clothing pocket, smaller valuables on the sides, a ball pocket, a range rack, rack rack, beverage sleeves and a saddle pocket.

Basically, this bag is like you pick up a lightweight Sunday bag, secure it to the shelf and switch to vinyl.

What we like

Let's solve the first problem: Even with just a 5.25-inch top, the Matchplay Swift Sunday is suitable for 14 clubs without any problems. Put anything into More The club and it will start to get clumsy, but you will carry legally complete questions without any problems.

The bag is also very clean and very soft. Currently there are only four colors: black, navy, sand and green-white. This is contrary to Sun Mountain’s last luxury bag lineup, the series is also very good, but with many different color block styles. Nothing is wrong. They just took different directions and performed well again.

The polished Sun Mountain badge on the clothing pocket is new and very low-key. Here are the details like this, as well as the stitching pattern on the clothing pockets and hip pads, making the bag look tall.

Of course, carrying a bag is easy, considering the size, and it can be balanced well. Included with the included single belt attachment, the bag should be a caddie’s dream and I intend to take it anywhere I expect the caddie to need. Like the mid-stripe bag, the match bag also has clips, allowing you to interchange double and single strap attachments.

Another highlight for me is the very strong metal stand legs. Sometimes, with smaller stand bags, the company jumps out on the stand, but I think this is where the Sun Mountain Bag stands out: I've never seen a bend. On my Old Sun Mountain 2.5, the legs are made of carbon fiber. Now, they have gone to the heavier metal. I want to try to see American Airlines bend these legs!

What can be improved

We're just a little nit here, but I'd love to see the valuables on the right for only a little time. It's big enough to fit my iPhone, but that means it's hard to get in and out in other things too.

I definitely don't have the problem with the two dividers, but there are two sections at the top and the bottom, which I think is alleviated. Maybe there are only two parts, only two parts. I used a bag on the cart once. That was the only difficulty I had to get the club in and out. Usually, though, this bag is not designed to be considered by riders.

Finally, while I'll get a small bag of single charm, if you're going to have 14 clubs in this bag, it's best to offer it with a double strap.

Bottom line

If you're looking for a premium and lightweight bag, don't go with Sun Mountain with Swift Sunday.

The company now does some really cool things in the golf bag space with its recently released Eclipse series, and a new partnership with Joel Dahmen, which has him using the Sun Mountain X Marucci Consart Bag on the PGA Tour.

However, with the new Matchplay range, they can really choose someone who wants a premium bag, and for walkers like me, Swift Sunday is right for bills.
