Blackhawks reveal details of the “Centenary Celebration” on 2025-26 – Hockey Writer – Chicago Blackhawks

The Chicago Blackhawks' 2025-26 season is preparing to become a special season as they expect 100 years, their “centennial” season.

The Blackhawks have released news of the celebration throughout the season. “This centenary celebration is not only to honor our past achievements, but also to make ourselves innovative, community impact and excellence in the coming century,” said Danny Wirtz, CEO and Chairman.

Details of the Centennial Season

The press release begins: “Fans can expect to celebrate the team’s legendary alumni, iconic champion team and other memorable moments in this milestone season and expect to celebrate the team’s legendary alumni, iconic champion team and other memorable moments.”

The theme was revealed to be “always original” to illustrate the Blackhawks' signature contribution to the game, including goal corners, curved sticks and butterfly preservation.

Throughout the season, there will be themed nights, promotions, giveaways, and more, and will be released this summer after the NHL releases its schedule for next season.

One of the interesting parts of all this is that the press release highlights: “Fans who purchase full season ticket membership by May 31, 2025 will be eligible for the maximum membership benefits and receive an exclusive “member only” century-old jacket designed to mark 100 years of Black Hawks hockey.” So fans have the opportunity to represent the season as stylish.

Obviously, this milestone would be incomplete without the celebration of the players who shape the team. They used to spend special nights, honoring certain players with “last shift” or “legacy night”. However, the Blackhawks announced that they would launch the Blackhawk Hall of Fame as they announced that they would improve it. There are two votes Modern era and The Era of Heritage Black Hawk. They explained that players in the modern era are those who have retired from the NHL for more than three years and completed their Blackhawks career in the 2000-01 season and beyond. The Legacy Age is aimed at players who completed the Blackhawks career in the 1999-2000 season or later.

For reference, modern votes are Tony Amonte, Brian Campbell, Corey Crawford, Eric Daze, Niklas Hjalmarsson, Duncan Keith, Brent Seabrook, Patrick Sharp, Andrew Shaw, Steve Sullivan, Jocelyn Thibault, Jocelyn Thibault and Alexei Zhamnov.

The votes for the era of heritage are Ed Belfour, Doug Bentley, Johnny Gottselig, Dirk Graham, Dennis Hull, Cliff Koroll, Steve Larmer, Chico Maki, Mush Marchi, Pit Martin, Pit Martin, Bill Mosienko, Troy Murray, Troy Murray, Eric Nesterenko, Jeremy Roenick and Doug Wilson.

Voting opens today and will end in mid-July. Fans can pick a player in the modern and legacy era. Interested fans can use this link to vote. The Hawks bring an alum into the Blackhawks Hall of Fame every year.

The organization also made it clear that players who retired from the team will automatically include it in the Blackhawks Hall of Fame. So, if you don't care about the names of Stan Mikita and Marian Hossa, you don't need to worry.

The party doesn’t stop there. The team said: “The Centennial Season Celebration is expected to culminate in a fan game on the 100th anniversary of the club's first game in the fall of 2026.” The 100th anniversary of the Blackhawks was officially on May 1, 2026.

The Blackhawks hope next season will be the turning point for the organization on the ice. But it is also an opportunity to honor the team, which will be told in “Four Unique Chapters” while also acknowledging the new history they hope to build in the future.

As Jaime Faulkner (President of Business Operations) noted: “When our young fans see alumni worth sharing ICE with our current lineup for decades, they will understand that they are part of something bigger than the team today – they are part of a legacy that has shaped the sport itself and will continue to be born for generations.”
