“No doubt” – Jamie Carragher

Former Liverpool defender and renowned television expert Jamie Carragher warned that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta could face sacks if he didn't “win a big win” next season.

After being in a row to Manchester City for the second consecutive Premier League, the Gunners once again tilted with the best title, with Liverpool winning this season.

Arteta also led Arsenal to its first Champions League semi-final in 16 years, but lost both legs to Paris Saint-Germain to confirm another trophy-free campaign. Carragher reflects another Gunners' close-range turnover after a vibrant 2-2 wave of Liverpool frenzy on Sunday afternoon. “This season should be their season.” The 2005 Champions League champion sighed as he Sky movement expert. “There is no doubt that the pressure next season will be under pressure from Mikel Arteta in winning the game and winning the big field.

“Arsenal board, if they don’t [win a major trophy]there will be a huge problem because they don't want to change the manager, but there will be many people saying: There will be no trophy in five to six years. They will look at how many managers can take the next step. ”

While there may not be any Arsenal’s trophy cabinet under his watch, Arteta changed a club in 2019 that shaky on the brink of chronic mediocrity. The former midfielder inherited 11th place at the Premier League table, which is a negative target difference and has since surpassed the total of four highest points in Arsenal's modern history.

As Carragher himself admitted, Arteta did “excellent work.” “Arsenal is easily what Chelsea is doing now. They can stand out from their second year teams and come year by year to a team that doesn’t actually join the Champions League.

“[Changing managers] If Arsenal ends again, Arsenal will achieve a major puzzle in 12 months as a football club. ”
