Golf Business News – Prince Hosted 2030 Walker Cup

Prince's Golf Club in Kent was selected as the Walker Cup in 2030. The famous link venue will host the biennial team competition for the first time, with the first competition between the large and Ireland and the United States, and has previously held numerous leading Amateur events, including the recently held Amateur Championships for many women in 20223.

Prince's held the Open Championship in 1932, with a major reconstruction plan since 2017, including upgrades to a 27-hole course and most recently a clubhouse.

Johnnie Cole-Hamilton, executive director of the R&A Championship, said: “The Walker Cup offers elite amateur golfers the opportunity to perform on a world-class stage, and Prince’s is sure to continue its rich tradition in 2030. It is a venue with impressive canine dynamics that makes the game impressive, thus making the game wonderful and enjoyable on a great scale.

“It is an absolute honor to invite a Walker Cup in 2030. Being one of the respected owners of the most respected amateur competitions of the most respected men in the game is the ones who are connected to the Prince's Golf Club. Make sure to have a good match.”

The exact date for the 2030 Walker Cup to be on stage will be confirmed at a later date. Cypress Point, California, will play this year in September, while the 2026 will be held in Lahinch, Ireland, and the 2028 match will be held in Bandon Dunes, Oregon.
