Role: Data Engineer
As a data engineer (remote) in our data operations team, you will build and maintain the data infrastructure that powers Prep Baceball’s digital ecosystem. Your work will directly impact how performance metrics, game statistics are collected, processed, and serviced for our applications, and shape the experiences of athletes, coaches and fans.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain data pipelines for ingesting and processing athlete performance metrics, game statistics and reconnaissance reports
- Implement ETL processes to convert raw data into structured formats suitable for analysis and application consumption
- Design and maintain APIs for seamless data access to internal and external stakeholders
- Real-time data processing and analysis using streaming technology
- Manage and optimize databases to ensure data integrity, performance and scalability
- Work with cross-functional teams (products, engineering, analytics) to provide data solutions that meet business needs
Technology Stack
qualifications
- Data engineering or related fields for more than 3 years
- Proficient in Python, SQL and cloud-based data solutions
- Strong analytical capabilities, the ability to troubleshoot and optimize data processes
- Excellent communication skills and collaborative mindset
Very happy to have
- A real passion for baseball and sports analysis
- Practical experience with track and field athletes, Explosion Sports, Statcast API, Rapsodo or other baseball performance techniques
- Background of event-driven architecture and serverless design
