Liverpool make plans to replace Alexander Arnold with Jeremie Frimpong

Liverpool are actively pursuing a new right-back to fill the gap left by Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The England international announced that he will leave the club this summer after refusing to sign a new contract.

The Premier League champion will lose one of the most important players in the club.

Alexander-Arnold is most likely to head to La Liga to join Real Madrid, where he can play football with his best friend Jude Bellingham.

Naturally, Merseyside Club has begun to look at their options to replace offensive defenders.

Arne Slot already has the option of Conor Bradley as an off-the-shelf replacement for Alexander-Arnold, but he wants to add more depth and quality to the right-back position.

According to the Popular Empire, the Merseyside Club made Bayer Leverkusen's Jeremie Frimpong the main target.

The 24-year-old Dutch international stands out in the Bundesliga, with his electrical, ruthless energy and future contribution.

Frimpong played a key role in the success of Leverkusen in the 2023/24 season, thus contributing impressive goals and assists from the defender role.

Liverpool is preparing for the opening ceremony bid, estimated at €350,000-400,000 (£298,000-34.1 million), and optimism is becoming more and more optimistic and an agreement can be reached.

Sources close to the players indicated that Frimpong was interested in the Premier League switch and was particularly keen on opportunities to play in Anfield.

Personal terms are unlikely to be a major stumbling block, but Liverpool also noted the unpredictable nature of potential competition and transfer negotiations.

Despite Liverpool's keen interest in Frimpong, if the deal is not implemented, Liverpool still wisely line up with backup options.

One of the alternatives to consider is Ola Aina of Nottingham Forest, Dodo in Florence and Van derson in Monaco.

With the summer transfer window approaching, Liverpool seems determined to finalize the situation at its right-back as soon as possible, thus ensuring a smooth transition to the new era without Alexander Arnold.
