Rangers can bring “radical” SPFL stars to Ibrox

The Glasgow Rangers entered the last old company conflict of the season, with only pride.
This has been the case with the first two games against the Celtics since early January, and the Light Blue won both games. Indeed, the 3-0 and 3-2 wins are arguably the highlight of an otherwise frustrating season that will give the club a second trophy in three seasons.
However, can there be light at the end of the tunnel? It seems that the potential takeover of the 49-person business to the club is about to be completed.
During the week, key members of the American League conducted a tour of Ibrox, and Andrew Cavenagh, chairman of Leeds United, Paraag Marathe and 49ers director Raminder Dhadwal were all on display around the stadium.
It could be the shock that clubs need to stand out from their recent discomfort and start challenging the Celtics’ challenge to the supremacy of the country again.
A new permanent manager is a priority on entering the summer’s priority list. To be sure. Once this decision is made, building a team that can win trophy will be crucial this summer.
The club has been linked to several players, even if there are a few weeks left until the transfer window opens. One of these goals may prove to be the next Alan Hutton.
Ranger Statistics by Alan Hutton
Since Hutton left Ibrox in 2008, only Nathan Patterson is about to be the next right-back to become a star.
The Scots made his debut for the club in the 2002/03 season, but it wasn't until two years later that Alex McLeish regularly released him, his development could begin normally.
Indeed, the defender has appeared 12 times in this term, and if he hadn't had a broken leg against Kilmarnock in February, it would have been more. This lifted him off a successful league championship conclusion, but he returned to his best in the following season.
Three matches in the Champions League provided him with experience playing against top European players, in the 2007/08 season, when the Rangers led 0-0 with Barcelona in the Ibrox.
By then, his performance starts to turn, and it’s clear that Hutton will turn to something bigger and better soon.
In January 2008, Tottenham Hotspur bid for the Scots about £9 million, which was too good to refuse.
It was the club's record sales until Patterson joined Everton 14 years later. Hutton's offensive abilities are often exhibited in Ibrox, but he can also defend well.
The player who brought in that cat will definitely improve Glasgow next season…
Ranger searches for new signature
Much depends on how much the new manager has to spend this summer, as it may determine his transfer strategy. In recent years, large imports of millions of dollars splashed on GERS have not been smooth. Could this point in a new direction this year?
Transfer focus
Giant money deals, controversial moves and big-name slippers. This is the hometown of football fans' transfer news and opinions.
According to a report earlier this month by The Wanderer Review, the club expressed interest in signing Dundee star Josh Mulligan.
“The Rangers are interested in Josh Mulligan of Dundee. The 22-year-old left the contract with the club's radar this summer,” journalist Joshua Barrie said on X.
GERS has received services from Lyall Cameron in a pre-contract agreement. Can Mulligan be the next Scottish talent to head to Glasgow?
With European football and the chance to win trophy, it is a move that should be seen as a multi-purpose player continuing his outstanding development.
James Tavernier stayed at the club soon and by signing Mulligan, Ibrox's outfit may discover their next Hutton.
Why should Ranger sign Josh Mulligan
Mulligan impressed Dundee side, who struggled throughout the 2024/25 campaign. At the time of writing, they are currently ranked 10th in the Premier League table.
Five assists in 36 games are a good count, especially for those who are still learning after each game.
Scottish analyst and scout Kai Watson praised Mulligan in the interest of the Glasgow side, saying: “There are fans of Josh Mulligan for a while now and think signing him for free will be a smart business for the Rangers.
“A kind of aggressive high-energy defender/CM, technically and the last third. For me, the future of Scotland International.”
Indeed, complimented, there is no better place than Ibrox to show your potential further.

Like Hutton, Dundee Man offers a lot of activities to move forward. In his 30 top-tier games this season, the 22-year-old created nine big opportunities, with an average success per game.
He may not score or assist like Tavernier, but Mulligan regularly goes into the final third, providing enough support for those who are higher on the court.
Defensively, the Scots won a total of 5.2 finals per game and made 1.9 tackles, 1.5 goals and resumed 4.7 goals per game in the top Scotland flight this semester.
As Tavernier's long-time heir, it makes total sense to sign Mulligan in a free transfer. This is for sure. By doing so, they will bring a player full of aggressive, smart and versatile who can perform in numerous positions on the court.
All of this didn't cost a penny. It may be crucial to close the deal as soon as possible, as more clubs may be interested as weeks pass.
This will be a step in the right direction, ensuring the service of another local player as it will be crucial for the European roster quota for next season.
