Golf Business News – Global Golf Brand Issues Updated After Breaking In

After news of theft of more than £2 million in stock from its Manchester warehouse last weekend, the global golf brand reported that the business was “backed up and running”, causing minimal disruption to the vast majority of customers.

Graeme Stevens, managing director of WWGB, commented: “As we picked after the break-in, the MacGregor package set and hardware seem to be the only product line that will be significantly affected.”

“This is a devastating loss for the business and we are working closely with the Greater Manchester Police to find the culprit. Silver is the loss for our other brands, so for Stuburt, Big Max and Oscar Jacobson it's business as usual.”

Existing orders for Oscar Jacobson, Stuburt or Big Max will be dispatched with minimal delays, and despite all MacGregor packaging sets missing and a lot of travel covers, there is still some light at the end of MacGregor customers, as Graeme explains.

“We still have some MacGregor travel covers and bags, and we already have a range of packaging suits and clubs on the water. So we hope to have some stock in four to six weeks that can be used for the most in midsummer.

“It was a big blow to us, but it was amazing how the team worked together to evaluate the losses, clean up the warehouse and get us started and run. I can't be proud of their response, but just ask our clients for a little patience because we're getting everything back on track.”

Any WGB customers who want to discuss an order please contact their sales representative or call the office directly. Anyone with information about break-in can contact the team on 0161 886 4010 or call Greater Manchester Police at 101.
