The ATP Masters 1000 was first launched as a series in 1990, bringing together the best men’s tennis players across nine top events on the ATP Tour calendar. The winner of the Masters 1000 event will receive 1,000 PIF ATP ranking points.
Masters 1000 defending champion
Jannik Sinner won the BNP Paribas Open and Miami Open presented by Itau to kick off the 2026 series, becoming the eighth player and the first since Roger Federer in 2017 to complete the coveted “Sunshine Double”. The Italian also became the first player to keep a set in both events.
Master 1000 leader titles
Since the Masters 1000 series began in 1990, only six players have won more than 10 Masters 1000 titles. With victory at the 2021 Rolex Paris Masters, Novak Djokovic took sole possession of the 1,000th ATP Masters title, breaking the previous record he shared with Rafael Nadal. After winning the 2023 Cincinnati Open, he raised his record to 40 Masters 1,000 games.
Masters 1000 Win Leader
Novak Djokovic moves ahead of Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer in the race for the Masters 1,000 match win leader, with the Serbian ahead of the Spaniard at the 2025 Miami Open hosted by ETA. Nadal broke Federer’s long-standing record for the first time in August 2019, recording his 379th victory in 1,000 matches at this elite Masters event at Coupe Rogers.
