Miami Open: GB singles hopes dashed as Cameron Norrie, Katie Boult and Fran Jones were eliminated

Muchova broke 29-year-old Bolt’s serve twice in the first set and only needed one more break in the second set to lead 6-5 to seal the victory.
Elsewhere, Britain’s fourth-ranked Fran Jones has also withdrawn, having withdrawn due to illness in the second set of her match against American Jessica Pegula.
Jones, 25, knocked out Venus Williams in the first round despite feeling unwell, but struggled against Pegula.
Pegula won the first set 6-1, and although Jones coughed multiple times during the match, after a medical timeout she was determined not to be in good shape to continue after trailing 3-0 in the second set.
“I didn’t want to lose the opportunity to play Venus, but playing Jesse is a whole different ball game,” Jones said.
“You need to be 10 out of 10 to compete with her, and I was probably 4 out of 10 today. If I can’t give it my all, I don’t see the point when I’m already struggling with my overall health.”
