Wimbledon announces introduction of video review technology in 2026
Players will be allowed to review on grass-court Grand Slam’s six performance venues

After Wimbledon introduced electronic wire calling for the first time last year, the grass-court Grand Slam announced that it will introduce video judging in 2026.
For the first time in tournament history, players will be able to request the use of film review technology to review specific calls made by referees. They will be able to review calls such as “no play,” “foul,” and “touch.” Video review will be available on Center Court, Court 1, Court 2, Court 3, Court 12 and Court 18, either at the end of an inning, when players immediately stop playing, or after completing a run (in the event of an obstruction).
There will also be some improvements to the electronic line calling system for the 139th Wimbledon, which will be held from June 29 to July 12. This year, scoreboards for all games on all courts, including qualifying rounds, will feature visual indicators of instant electronic line calls. The indicator will show “out” and “fault” calls.
The All England Club also confirmed on Saturday that the revised Wimbledon finals weekend schedule introduced for the 2025 event will remain in place this year. The men’s doubles final will take place on Saturday 11 July at 1pm local time (BST) and the women’s singles final at 4pm. On Sunday, July 12, the women’s doubles final will begin at 1pm and the men’s singles final will take place at 4pm
