Merida Open: Katie Boulter beats Camila Osorio in second round in Mexico

Britain’s third-ranked Katie Boult made it her seventh straight win on the WTA Tour when Camila Osorio withdrew in the second round of the Merida Open.

Bolt, who won the Ostrava Open this month, won the first set 6-3 in Mexico, and Colombia’s Osorio called in the team doctor and decided not to continue the match.

Bolt, ranked 69th in the world, will face Italian top seed Jasmine Paolini or Australian Priscilla Hong in the quarterfinals on Friday.

“We really don’t want to see women get hurt,” Bolt said.
