Who will be fighting for Doha glory this week?

Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner and Andrey Rublev all competed in the Qatar ExxonMobil Open, with the superstars swapping their rackets for fishing rods ahead of the ATP 500 tournament. Daniil Medvedev, who lost to Stefanos Tsitsipas in the second round, was also part of Sunday’s fishing fun.

The light-hearted contest caused a stir on social media, with fans enjoying everything from Sinner’s catch of the day to clips of the four opponents sharing laughs.

Alcaraz and Sinner are both vying for their first Doha title. It was the Italian’s debut, while Alcaraz was competing in Qatar for the second consecutive year.

Alcaraz recently won the Australian Open to complete a career Grand Slam and extend his lead over Sinner in the battle for world number one in the PIF ATP Rankings. If Alcaraz and Sinner meet in the Doha final, it will be their first meeting in 2026 and their 17th meeting at the Lexus ATP.

Rublev is the defending champion in Doha and also won the championship in 2020. He will face Alcaraz in the semifinals.
