World number one Aryna Sabalenka defeated Karolina Muchova 6-3 6-4 to reach the Brisbane International final for the third consecutive year.
Sabalenka is aiming to win a third Australian Open title in four years later this month and continues her preparations with a commanding victory in the final against Marta Kostyuk, who beat fourth seed Jessica Pegula 6-0 6-3.
As the 2023 French Open runner-up, Czech Muchova has won all three previous matches against Sabalenka.
But Muchova was unable to cope with the Belarusian’s power at the Queensland Tennis Centre, and despite conceding three match points, Sabalenka sealed victory with Muchova’s long-range effort.
“I’m very happy that today is the day that I can win,” Sabalenka said.
