game review
In the first 20 minutes, the two sides launched a fierce tug-of-war. The Kraken gave up two penalties and a 4-on-4 opportunity, but the score was still 0-0. Minnesota outshot Seattle 10-8, scoring seven times before the Kraken scored their first goal.
One minute into the second, Matt Boldy slid the puck across the board and passed it to Joel Eriksson Ek next to the post. His shot went between the legs of Philipp Grubauer for the first goal of the night.
At 6:40 of the second inning, Matt Boldy gave up his seat for tripping Brandon Montour. Chandler Stephenson won the initial face-off and kept the puck in the Kraken’s zone. Seven seconds later, he was at the scrimmage point again. He shot, and Jordan Eberle put the shot into the back of the net to tie the game.
Eriksson Ek put the puck on the backboard and fired a shot eight minutes into the third period. Marcus Jonathon tipped in a layup in front of the net to give Minnesota the lead.
The Krakens immediately tied the game when Tye Carty knocked the puck into the back of the net. The goal was immediately disallowed due to the stick being high.
The Kraken tied Grubauer with two minutes left in the game and Kirill Kaprizov scored an empty-net goal 45 seconds later.
Seattle pulled him away again, and Vladimir Tarasenko scored in an empty net just 15 seconds after Kaprizov’s goal to secure the Wild’s victory.
