Andrey Rublev has been named the recipient of the Arthur Ashe Humanitarian Award at the 2025 ATP Awards, a testament to the 28-year-old’s impact on and off the court.

The 17-time Tour-level champion established the Andrei Rublev Foundation in March 2024 to provide resources and support to children with serious illnesses. Rublev continues to work hard throughout the 2025 season.

“I’m really happy to win the Arthur Ashe Humanitarian Award,” Rublev said in a video accepting the award. “We’re working really hard to improve our foundation. We’re learning and this is something new for us. It’s only been two years, so winning this award means a lot. We will continue to grow the foundation and do better and more things. Thank you very much.”

Earlier this year, the Andrei Rublev Foundation announced a partnership with the Bambino Gesu Children’s Hospital in Rome. The PIF ATP Ranking world number 16 visited the hospital ahead of the ATP Masters 1000 tournament to spend time with medical staff and patients undergoing treatment. Rublev also gave gifts to the children.

In a statement posted on the Andrei Rublev Foundation website, the fan-favorite wrote: “I am fortunate to be able to make a living playing professional sports and to take care of my health. There are so many children in need of financial support for critical medical needs, and it is a huge honor for me to be able to help them. I look forward to working with the children, their families, and the doctors to help them face a brighter future as I have the resources I am privileged to provide.”

Rublev also spoke candidly about mental health and the importance of seeking help. In June, he appeared in the ATP Originals documentary Breaking Back, in which Rublev bravely discussed his personal struggles. Rublev and ATP Tour star Caspar Rudd participated in Tennis Canada’s mental health panel at this season’s ATP Masters 1000 event in Toronto.

This marks Rublev’s first time receiving the Arthur Ashe Humanitarian Award, an honor held by some of the sport’s most famous legends including Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray, Andre Agassi and John McEnroe. Ashe, the 1992 winner, again received an award named after him in 1999.

This is Rublev’s third ATP title. In 2023, he was named a fan-favorite tag team with Karen Khachanov and in 2020 he earned Most Improved Player of the Year honors.

Rublev won in Doha this year, adding another title to his trophy cabinet. He also reached the fourth round at Wimbledon and the U.S. Open. According to the Infosys ATP win/loss index, Rublev has a season record of 34-25.
